If you are even thinking about joining a CrossFit box, here are some things to know before going into it that might save you along the way !!!
10. DON’T DROP AN EMPTY BAR !!! If you drop an empty barbell, a kitten does not die. But the gym owner sees blazing technicolor red. Make sure you are using bumper plates to protect the equipment !!!
9. Working harder is okay, but working smarter is what you really want to do. Don’t use the class to talk, use it to get in some serious work !
8. You’re probably taking more breaks than you need. Push the limits a bit. That pukish feeling WILL go away !
7. What you lift is more important than what you wear. It’s not a fashion show and no one really cares what you are wearing. It will be covered in sweat and chalk by the end of the class.
6. If you finish before others, YOU CHEER ! It’s not a time to reclaim your victory dance, there are still people working hard and they need support !
5. Learn to love deadlifts, squats and burpees… they are your best CrossFit friends.
4. If anyone in your class says, “This workout doesn’t look too bad” you are all so screwed. Death is near. #Butdidyoudie?
3. Girls dominate classes most of the time. For the guys make sure that you know what your getting into when talking to women who ACTUALLY LIFT !
2. Don’t let people get you mad. You might be having a bad day so keep that in mind the next time your yelling at your buddy to pick up the weights !
