A native to the area since 1966, I’ve been married to Joe since 1973 and we have three sons and eleven grandchildren. I’ve worked as a Neurodiagnostic Technologist at White-Wilson Medical Center for 30+ years. It is there that I see the devastating results of poor lifestyle choices – early aging, deconditioning and preventable disease causing disability. Because of my own health decline at age 58, I sought to pursue health and wellness. That’s when I walked into a CrossFit gym in March 2013 with zero gym or fitness experience.
After achieving marked improvement in my health, strength and fitness, I began competing at the late Masters level in local and online competitions.
My passion for health and fitness soared. I had a burning desire to share it – especially to those, like I had been, who had no idea where to start. So, in 2017 I obtained the CF-L1 and CrossFit Masters training. These were followed by other CrossFit training opportunities.
Developing and coaching our current Legends & Learner is a dream come true! I love to see this class grow, not only in numbers, but in strength, confidence, ability, agility, balance, coordination, and general functional fitness. To see some of them no longer needing their walkers and canes has been amazing. I’m grateful for the opportunity CFEA has given us to help this population and others achieve goals of health and fitness.
