Just as a reminder, here are some box etiquette that we should all keep in mind !
Please wipe down and clean any and all equipment and floor space that you use. If your stuff is already put away, help a buddy put their stuff away if you feel so inclined.
Keep chalk in the buckets and on your hands. The fans will cause the chalk to spray everywhere ! When using the chalk out of the buckets so be careful that your not “chalking” your friend next to you on accident!
Prettiest please, do not drop kettlebells, dumbbells, empty bars, or bars with 10lb plates on them. Bars with 20#’ side or more with bumpers on them are good to drop from overhead.
Rx is for those athletes that hold standards for movements and weights throughout the WOD. Our goal at Fitness Heroics is to teach you FORM first!!! The Rx is there for beginners as a goal to reach to!! Rx’ing movements without good form can lead to injury which we are trying to prevent.
Introduce yourself to visitors and new members. Be a friend to everyone. You were new once too and it’s sometimes intimidating for people to enter a room full of people they don’t know so help all the new and old athletes out !
Reserve your spot for class. As the new year is here, class sizes are going to be larger and as a coach it’s easier for us to be able to make the accommodations necessary to ensure a safe and organized class to occur.
Arrive on time for class. If you can’t help but be a couple minutes late, please ask your coach if it is okay to join class.
Yelling, screaming, and cheering for a friend that is still working out is awesome. Bonus points for not putting your equipment away until they are done. We are all on the same team and we all need support.
Do all your reps, give it your all, and the results will follow. Don’t cheat yourself with form and movements to get done quicker than others. Never sacrifice form !
Make the best of your time here. Ask your coaches questions, talk with friends about your goals, and stay accountable to them.
