Our Story

CrossFit Epically Awesome is home to some of the worlds best trainers. We take pride in making fitness fun and enjoyable while delivering life lasting fitness results. We started with 2 training clients in 2016. By word of mouth and delivering fitness results we have organically grown since then. Together we have created a safe, challenging, optimistic, enthusiastic, fun, fulfilling, and cutting edge fitness environment.

Our athletes are the sole supporting structure of our facility. We know all our athletes names, and greet them by their first name every time they walk through our doors. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where first time CrossFitters are welcomed within our facility. We make decisions based on the wants and needs of our athletes. Owning this affiliate with my friends and wife is the greatest opportunity I have to give back and I love doing it every day. Crossfit has given me all of my closest friends and even my wife. I learn everything I can about the body and what humans are truly capable of doing. I’d always been interested in movement and human performance as a hobby but the L1 really shot Oxygen on my embers. My first gym was CrossFit Asia in Okinawa and there I got my first level 1 in 2009. I started CrossFit in 2008 on a deployment. I taught myself the movements via CrossFit.com. I started CrossFit back in 2010. While in college at University of Cincinnati I played soccer and didn’t really have anything like it out of college. I was doing regular PT with the Air Force but wanted something to fill the competition gap. I got really into CrossFit about a year in and started coaching in 2012. Since then I’ve coached at several affiliates in Texas, Jordan, Afghanistan and here. I’ve always wanted to give back to the community and owning CFEA has been an awesome platform to do just that. I was very active in my career and with eleven grandchildren, I began to succumb to the aging process without a proactive health and fitness program. I was beginning to lose balance, strength, flexibility, etc. with difficulty climbing stairs, getting off the floor, and had poor cardiovascular endurance. In my job as a neurodiagnostic technologist, everyday I would see the result of poor nutrition and fitness resulting in disability often at a young age. With these problems and the strong family history of early stroke and heart attack, I began my quest for good health and fitness finding myself tentatively entering a Crossfit gym asking for help. I’m currently active duty Air Force stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida. I’ve been married to my wife for 13 years and together we have one 12-year-old daughter. My hobbies include long walks at the beach, traveling, sipping wine on a rainy day, reading books, eating bacon, and watching movies. Occasionally, I CrossFit and lift stuff. I’ve been coaching Crossfit since 2011 and have had the privilege to be part of multiple local and military affiliates. I coach CrossFit because I want to help improve people’s movement and help them become a better version of themselves. As an athlete, Crossfit helps me relieve stress, pass my weak-ass annual PT test and keeps me from raging out against incompetent people at work. Certifications:

I am a recent college graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi. Born into a military family and raised in Fort Walton Beach. I grew up attending Choctaw High School where I became a 4 letter athlete and later a collegiate athlete at USM. I currently work for American Airlines, as an aspiring pilot. I Coach CrossFit because I love to see people improve themselves. I believe CrossFit is one of the best communities to be a part of. Seeing everyone push to better themselves puts a smile on my face. When I coach my athletes, I focus on: Form over Speed and Speed over Intensity. I believe that each athlete is different and requires a different coaching technique to attain their goals and overcome hurdles. I began coaching 15 years ago, and I’m always learning new things.
